Nameless Topaz. This is not the original wig I had going for her but the other one wouldn't work. She's an air elemental so she can have whatever hair she wants.

Doll is a Soom Topaz
Armor, [I didn't etch the metal only assembled random pieces into armor], jewelry and background [taken from Mucha's Moet] by me
Clothing and gorget by *Nezumi-chuu
Faceup by squishtaru
Eyes are Everpurple
Wig is Leeke

Oh dear gods now was that metal done? Gotta be some special tools for that. It's beautiful! I've never seen such fine work on a bjd before.

Sorry to disappoint, but the metal was pre-stamped. I just bought it in a bunch of different shapes and assembled it into armor. Not so glamorous once I explain the reality, lol.

Yup, Soom Topaz. It's amazing how different people can make them all look with just a different wig/faceup.

She really has a uniqe and gourgus faceup. made me think of trying to win her next time shes on lottery XD
Seen a few dolls that has amezing and different looks with different styles but yet you could tell wich doll it was.
But i wuld never have guessed that it was Topaz. Its so much better then what soom wuld ever be able to do with her.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Your Topaz really captivated me in the previous photos of her, but she looks equally mesmerising, if completely different, here. And I really like the hair ornament.

Oh my goodness, this is incredible. The etching on that armour is just spectacular - I really want to make armour for my dolls, but would have no idea where to start. What metal did you use, if you don't mind me asking? Everything about this project you're doing is very inspiring!

I didn't etch it. I keep forgetting I need to point that out because I do actually do metalwork, just not this. These are cheap-ass barrette components I found randomly on ebay about a year ago and assembled into armor.

Thank you ^_^

It takes me a couple hours in photoshop to isolate the background from a Mucha poster depending on complexity of the pattern, then I print it out on velum, probably another hour or so to dress and primp the doll. If I make the jewelry probably 30 mins to an hour for that depending on how complex. I'll spend about 15-30 min editing maybe once I have the shot pulled up. The armor took me a bit to make but I've had it for a while.

Money, the base doll was probably $750 because the head is limited but I got a good deal on it because I got it from a friend. Wig maybe $30, eyes $40 because they're urethane. All the clothing and jewelry was either made by me or gotten in trade.

Multiply that times 9 because that's how many I've photographed so far, [some not posted yet], and I still have 5 more to do.

So yeah, lol, time consuming and expensive.

Holy wow, such an expensive hobby.
O_O

Do you have a job?
How often do you buy things for your dolls?
i've always wanted to make one, but wow, they just seem so expensive.
At least the really pretty ones, and If I ever did get one, I'd like one of those.
You know? With the best eyes and hair, bases. Etc.

I've had a job for a long time, I have been out of college for a while. It's just what I chose to spend my money on.

I used to buy things often, I've gone through nearly 20 dolls in the past 5 years, but have recently stopped in lieu of camera equipment, which is more expensive.

Yeah, you can't really get into this hobby and not expect to lay down a lot of cash.

Thanks ;3; she borrowed Offy's, lol. It's getting hard to make them all different enough to be individual, especially since most of them share the same clothing. I'm out of Soom girls though so it's on to the tinies.
